社会課題解決向けて、自然科学と人文・社会科学の融合による新たな学術分野の創出（総合知）が求められており、科学技術政策でも重要な課題となっています。
それに伴い文理融合研究や社会課題解決を対象とした大型研究助成が増加していますが、応募に至るには、分野間の交流、ネットワーク形成、調査、研究課題の醸成へと、専門分野を超えた学際的な取り組みへのモチベーションと注力を要します。
そこで、研究戦略イニシアティブ推進機構では、そのような取り組みへの芽を育むために、令和4 年度から3 年間の学内研究助成を行います。また、「総合知」を創出するチームの形成を促進するためにURA による多様な支援を行います。

 

知活用プログラムの活動

 

2020年4月、筑波大学は全国の大学にさきがけて学内研究助成「新型コロナウイルス緊急対策のための大学『知』活用プログラム」をスタートし、新型コロナウイルスによって引き起こされたさまざまな課題に立ち向かう27件の研究プロジェクトが活動を開始しました。

この最初の知活用プログラムでは、成果をいち早く発信し、他の研究への発展や市民の行動判断の支援を目指しました。プログラムを実施したURAが情報発信に注力したことは、結果的に研究分野の違う採択者、学内外の研究者・研究支援者の間のコミュニケーションを促進し、大型の研究助成の獲得や、国際コラボレーションの実現に結びつきました。

※募集する研究課題は＜別紙１＞の限りではありません。研究分野、基礎・応用の別をとらわれず幅広い研究課題を対象とします。

 

応募資格

以下 1 ～ 5 の条件をすべて満たすこと。

  1. 本学と雇用関係のある常勤研究者であり、原則として2025年3月末まで在籍する者
  2. 研究員においては、受入教員から指導助言・研究時間・研究スペース等の支援が得られる者
  3. 申請時において学内外を問わず、同じ期間に同じ内容での研究で研究資金（財団や科研費等の研究助成金）を受給していない者（分担研究や内定を含む）
  4. 本プログラムの支援期間中に休職を予定していない者
  5. 運営費交付金・その他外部資金により雇用されている研究員等については、当該申請内容等について、拠点長や中心研究者、雇用者（受入教員）等から申請の許可を得られる者

  2. 採否の発表は申請者と所属部局研究支援担当宛お知らせした後、採択課題を本ウェブサイト上で公表します。

In recent years, there has been a growing demand for the creation of new academic fields (comprehensive knowledge) by fusing the natural sciences with the humanities and social sciences to solve social issues, and this has become an important issue in science and technology policy.
In response, large-scale research grants targeting fusion research in the humanities and sciences andsolutions to social issues are on the rise.
Therefore, to nurture the seeds of such initiatives, the Organization for Strategic Research Initiatives will provide a three-year intramural research grant starting in FY2022. In addition, URAs will providea variety of support to promote the formation of teams that create “comprehensive knowledge”.

 

Past Activities

In April 2020, the University of Tsukuba became the first university in Japan to launch an intramural research grant, the “Program to Apply the Wisdom of the University to tackle COVID -19 Related Emergency Problems”. 27 research projects have begun activities to confront various issues caused by the new coronavirus.

We, the URA, were quick to disseminate the results, aiming to support the development of other research and the decision of citizens to take action. Our focus on information dissemination resulted in the acquisition of large research grants and international collaborations by promoting communication among adopters, researchers and research supporters in different research fields.

Note: Research topics with which you can apply for the present grant are not limited to those shown above.

 

Eligibility

The applicant must meet the following conditions 1 to 5:

  1. Those who are full-time researchers of the University of Tsukuba and will be enrolled until the
    end of March 2025.
  2. Researchers who can receive the following support from labʼs supervisor: mentoring, securing
    of research time/ space, etc.
  3. Applicatnts must not receive any research funds (research grants from various foundations,
    KAKENHI, etc.) for the same research during the same period, whether on or off campus.
  4. Those who do not plan to take temporary leave during the period supported by this program.
  5. Researchers who are employed by operating cost subsidies or other external funds must obtain
    application approval from their supervisors (center directors, core researchers or employers).
